Good Afternoon SMGC members,
After week 42 of the 2025 – 2026 SMGC season, The “Race for the Crystal Cup” is really tightening up. Bill Henigsman is in 1st place with 642 points. Gary Zbilski is in 2nd place with 609 points. Neal Haworth has moved into 3rd place with 593 points, and Don Anderson is in 4th place with 587 points.
There are many close races throughout the standings with only a 1-point gap between players. If you want to finish in the top 25, it is very important that you sign up now for next week’s event. The complete Crystal Cup standings are attached to this email.
We have a busy couple of months remaining, and I want to point out some of the great events we have coming up starting next week:
– Monday, August 24th: We will be using Stableford scoring for this event. Our Tournament Director, Dave Curley, will clue us in on how the scoring works.
– Tuesday, September 15th: Our annual President’s Cup. This is a team Match Play event, followed by our last shared-cost buffet luncheon. This has been one of our favorite events, so please mark your calendar and don’t miss it!
– Monday, October 12th & Tuesday, October 13th: Our Club Championship. Please note that you must have played 15 rounds prior to October 12th to qualify for this event. For newer members, there are two Club Champions: 1 Gross Champion and 1 Net Champion. Both champions will receive $100 cash at the year-end luncheon, their name on the Club Championship plaque, and an invitation to play in the SNGA Tournament of Champions.
As you can see, there is a lot to play for in the next couple of months. I look forward to seeing everyone on the course very soon!
